OFFICIAL ELECTRONIC NOTICE OF MTSUIP ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Please join us for the (MTSUIP) Montana Schools Unemployment Insurance Program Annual Membership Meeting (breakfast provided) to be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 - 7:00 AM in the Ballroom A at the DoubleTree in Billings.

The agenda will be as follows:

6:30 AM - Registration opens

7:00 AM - MTSUIP’s 31st Annual Membership Meeting (start time is approximate)

8:00 AM - Adjournment (adjournment time is approximate)

The meeting will provide a general report on program operations, financial condition, future directions, and the election or re-election of directors. We must have a quorum in order to conduct business, so please RSVP (lgowen@mtsba.org) by October 15, 2026.

MTSUIP provides education and information through the following outreach programs:

  • Cost-saving workshops are offered across the state, giving participants an opportunity to learn practical approaches to keeping claims costs low while protecting school districts from unnecessary exposure 
  • Take-home tools from workshops for supervisors to refer to later or share with coworkers
  • Claims tips and updates sent by email and bulletins to help members control costs and reduce claims
  • Montana Education Law Reporter can provide answers to MTSUIP members' questions. The program manual is updated as necessary, so the information is always current and responsive to members' needs

Unemployment Services

Handles processing and audit benefit charge statements

Reviews members’ tax rate annually

Assists with appeals as well as hearing preparation and representation

Provides supervisor training and pre-separation assistance

 

In-District Employment Training

As a member of the MTSUIP Unemployment Insurance Program, you should be taking advantage of the four-hour in-district employment training offered by MTSBA staff.

This is offered at no charge to your district as a value-added MTSUIP membership service. To schedule training, contact Jo Cordova at jcordova@mtsba.org.
